The renovation was spearheaded by parish priest Fr. Asis Rodrigues and generously supported by contributions from the faithful residents of Manickpur.

The Manickpur St. Michael Church Renovation has brought new life to one of Vasai’s most historic landmarks, preserving over 400 years of cultural and religious heritage

The newly restored church now shines in pure white glory, becoming a renewed symbol of faith for the people of Manickpur and Vasai.

Originally built in 1606 during the Portuguese era as a small chapel. Over the centuries, the structure underwent several expansions, with the current building completed in 1851. The recent renovation carefully preserved the original architectural style, ensuring that the heritage of the church remained untouched while enhancing its beauty
The church’s towering main spire remains its most striking feature. Beneath it, the main altar houses a beautifully detailed ancient statue of St. Michael. Inside the prayer hall, the old wooden doors have been restored, and a newly painted artwork of the Holy Trinity now decorates the ceiling, adding spiritual and artistic charm. Uniquely designed ceiling fans were also installed, blending tradition with modern comfort.
